How does Diamon-Fusion® work?

Diamon-Fusion® molecularly fuses with glass to form a hydrophobic barrier. It creates a new chemical bond that enhances visibility in bad weather and strengthens glass weight load by up to ten times. As a result, water beads up and rolls away, and small road debris ricochets off.

Why would I want to use Diamon-Fusion®?

Diamon-Fusion® improves driver reaction time by keeping windshields and glass surfaces clearer. It improves visibility during inclement weather, and reduces the likelihood of damage from small road debris. Diamon-Fusion® also allows insects to be easily washed away, and makes ice and snow much easier to remove. It protects against acid rain, corrosion and mineral buildup, and is resistant to UV rays. It preserves the beauty and luster of glass surfaces.

  How is the process applied?

The process is called "chemical vapor deposition". The surface to be fused goes through a cleaning process and is then coated with a liquid catalyst (in cases of high humidity, no catalyst is necessary). A specially designed machine pumps out a "fog-like" vapor containing the special chemicals needed to make the molecular change. The process happens in a split-second and the glass is immediately usable. All chemicals become inert within seconds of neutralization.

On what surfaces does the Diamon-Fusion® process work?

Any silica based surface , which includes all of the glass on your car or boat (but not on the reflective side of reflective glass).

Is Diamon-Fusion® different from other glass treatment products?

Yes! Award-winning Diamon-Fusion® technology is patented and available in more than 30 countries around the world. More than just a coating that can peel and blister over time, Diamon-Fusion® has created a chemical bond to enhance visibility in bad weather and strengthen glass weight load by up to ten times.

Is there documented proof that Diamon-Fusion® works?

Yes! Dr. William C. LaCourse, Professor of Glass Science at the Institute for Glass Science and Engineering at Alfred University, has conducted tests at an independent testing laboratory. Dr. LaCourse is an expert in the study of glass and ceramics. He has done testing for major companies like PPG and Kohler. Here is a summary of the most important findings of his tests:

Coefficient of Friction
(with Glass indentor wet)

Untreated Glass .82

Improved Diamon-Fusion® .13

To make the coefficient of friction useful, we have used a formula that translates the data into the force required to cause damage to the surface. Assume that a load of 10 lbs. has been placed on the rider under static conditions, and that this is the lowest load that caused cracking. (No dragging.) Using the formula we can now calculate the load that would cause cracking to occur when the rider is dragged across the sample.

When comparing wet vs. wet friction, calculations indicate that it would take more than 10 times the load (4.0 lbs. vs. 0.37 lbs.) to cause damage on your treated sample vs. the untreated.

In conclusion, the weight of a debris particle required to crack a piece of glass that has been treated with Diamon-Fusion® would need to be ten times heavier than the weight required to crack an untreated piece of glass.

Will I still need to clean my glass?

Yes, you will. The process REDUCES cleaning time; it does not eliminate it.

How can I keep my glass at peak performance?

A maintenance solution is available free of charge from Diamon-Fusion USA.

Will Diamon-Fusion® discolor or peel over time?

No it won’t discolor or peel, and it remains stable under UV Rays.

Will it harm my High Performance or Insulated Glass?

What about the surrounding frames?

No; Diamon-Fusion® is designed for any silica based surface , which includes all of the glass on your car or boat (but not on the
reflective side of reflective glass). It is applied only by trained,
certified technicians.

  Is Diamon-Fusion® environmentally safe?

Once it is applied to your glass, it is chemically inert and completely safe.

Can I use my regular cleaners to clean the surfaces?

Yes, you can use your regular low-alkali glass cleaners.
